RURAL UNINCORPORATED AREAS

There are, of course, unincorporated rural areas throughout Johnson County. Voters in these areas may be voting only in school elections. This site focuses primarily on the Iowa City Community School District, but it does have information on school elections in some other rural areas. (To find out which school district you’re in, click here.)

The polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 5. Early voting has already begun; you can vote early on weekdays between 7:45 am and 5:30 pm at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, through November 4. There are also occasional satellite voting stations at the Iowa City Public Library, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the Coralville Public Library, and the North Liberty Community Library. (Click here for details.) You can also request an absentee ballot be mailed to you. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by November 4.

October 25 is the deadline for the ordinary voter registration process, but election-day voter registration is permitted. (Details here.)
